After much anticipation, Vicious Fishes has opened their first Cary location – and it is quite the catch (the fish puns will now end here).
For the uninformed, Vicious Fishes opened their first brewery and taproom in Angier, NC. From there, they expanded to Fuquay-Varina, Apex, and now a fourth location here in Cary. They specialize in IPAs (Here Be Dragons is a must-try), but they also have seltzers, ciders, pilsners, and more. Non-alcoholic beverages are also available at the Cary location, and the establishment is kid (and dog) friendly.
Located at 510 Old Apex Rd, Vicious Fishes is right on the edge of downtown, near the traffic circle. They have a parking lot on the side of the building as well as an unpaved lot across from the traffic circle where guests can also park, but it seems to fill up quickly. There are also bike racks on-site if that’s more your speed.
Across from Vicious Fishes will be South Line Brewing, a project co-owned by the owners of Big Mike’s BBQ (AKA Brew N’ Que) and Ruckus Pizza, Pasta, and Spirits. They are expected to open this month as well. The two establishments will share the large outdoor space between them.
There is plenty of seating and lighting at Vicious Fishes, and plenty of room to stand and chat if you don’t want to sit around the whole time. There are two bars, one inside the building and another on the outside, so you can get your next beverage easily no matter where you are stationed. There are no TVs, and the space feels very social as a result.
The hours are currently 4-10 Monday – Thursday, 4-11 Friday, 11-11 Saturday, and 11 – 9 Sunday. They have food trucks stationed on-site if you’re looking for grub. Below is the schedule for this week.
