Hi, I’m James, the founder and publisher of The Cary Report!

Originally from New Hampshire, I’ve lived in several places along the East Coast, but Cary has become a place I love calling home. From its growing downtown and extensive greenway system to its locally owned businesses and unique neighborhoods, there’s a lot that makes this town special.

I started The Cary Report because I wanted to create something that went beyond the usual headlines. I believe local journalism should be accessible, informative, and, most importantly, relevant to the people who live here.

That means covering more than just the big announcements. I’m interested in the new restaurant opening down the street, the development proposed around the corner, the changes to our parks and greenways, and the decisions being made at Town Hall that affect our everyday lives.

I’m also a firm believer in asking questions, digging deeper, and holding those in positions of power accountable. Local journalism plays an important role in keeping communities informed, and I believe even a small, independent publication can make a meaningful difference.

The Cary Report is a one-person operation. I research, write, photograph, film, edit, and publish everything myself.

Outside of The Cary Report, I enjoy running, exploring the Triangle, trying new restaurants, and spending time with my Australian Labradoodle, Daisy, who occasionally makes an appearance in my coverage.

My goal is to help people feel more connected to the community around them, discover things they might otherwise overlook, and better understand how our town is changing.
