Old Apex Road will close between High House Road and SW Maynard Road from Friday, Oct. 24, through Sunday, Nov. 2 while crews install a new connection to Cary’s 24-inch water main as part of the Old Apex Road Waterline Reinforcement Project, town officials announced.
The closure centers on the Old Apex Road and SW Maynard Road area, where a new main must be installed across Old Apex to tie into existing lines. The town has authorized extended work hours from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. during the closure to shorten the schedule if possible. Detour signage will be posted throughout the work zone.
You can get official updates from carync.gov/waterprojects.
The project includes adding a new main and connecting it to existing infrastructure for Cary’s drinking water system. Completing the tie-in requires a full closure for safety and to keep the work on schedule.
The Cary Report will update this story if the town adjusts the timeline or detours.
