CatVideoFest, a nationwide theatrical event showcasing a curated compilation of cat videos, is returning to The Cary Theater this August. The event will feature a mix of internet favorites, music videos, animations, and original submissions, all centered around cats.
Screenings Initially began at The Cary Theater on August 2nd/3rd, but additional screenings are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, August 9, and 2:00 PM Sunday, August 10th at 3:00 PM. The event is designed to be a lighthearted, family-friendly experience, while also serving a charitable purpose. Ten percent of ticket sales will be donated to Cat Angels Pet Adoptions, a no-kill animal rescue based in Cary. In addition to receiving proceeds from ticket sales, Cat Angels will also have a presence in the theater lobby during the screening during the Saturday show, where they will be selling cat-themed gifts to raise additional funds. On the Sunday screening, local artist @betterthanbutternc will be selling cat themed art and gifts.
Organizers describe CatVideoFest as a communal experience that brings people together to enjoy the quirks and humor of cats, while also drawing attention to the needs of local shelters and rescue organizations. The film is only available in theaters and cannot be streamed or viewed online.

Film vouchers will not be accepted for this screening. Tickets can be purchased online or in person at The Cary Theater box office. The box office is open Wednesday through Saturday from 12:00 to 6:00 PM, Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 PM, and one hour prior to showtime. Tickets are $8.53 for adults and $5.73 for children/seniors.
The Cary Theater is located at 122 E Chatham St. There is limited parking available next to the theater, but a larger public parking lot is located behind the Methodist church off of Waldo Street (which you can access from Academy Street). The lot is about a 2-minute walk from the theater and completely free to use.
