The 47th annual Lazy Daze festival has finally arrived in downtown Cary. Here is everything you need to know.

When:

Saturday, 08/26 and Sunday, 08/27 from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Parking:

Lazy Daze is a large event that draws in many people across the town, state, and even country. Parking will be extremely limited, but visitors may be able to find a spot downtown if they arrive early. The library parking deck will likely be your best bet if a parking spot is available.

Some local businesses may also offer parking for a fee. The Cary American Legion Post 67 (between Harrison St and Academy St) is offering parking in exchange for a $10 donation that goes directly to supporting community programs for veterans.

There are two free shuttles, one near Koka Booth (at Chiesi USA at Regency) and Green Hope High School. You can find more information about them here.

The GoCary free bus service will also take you to downtown via all of its routes. All buses are equipped with ADA-accessible ramps as well.

Additionally, there will be a bike parking area in the Cary Depot for those looking to cycle to the event.

What is Lazy Daze?

Lazy Daze is a craft festival that takes place on the last weekend of August in downtown Cary. Lazy Daze has been a staple of the culture of Cary since its conception in 1977. Visitors can expect to see the work of hundreds of artists, listen to live music, enjoy tasty food trucks, enjoy fun activities for kids and adults, experience a beer garden, and so much more. You can view the program guide that talks about all of the events here.

Weather

It is going to be HOT for both of the days, but especially today (Saturday). The high for today is 96 degrees and completely sunny. Tomorrow has a high of 89 degrees, though the weather is expected to be overcast so it may not feel as hot as today.

Be sure to drink plenty of water, and feel free to cool off inside of the air conditioned Town Hall if you need a break from the sun.

See you there!
