Located just minutes from downtown Cary, Heater Park is a quiet area with plenty of open space to have a picnic, play catch, or just enjoy some nature.

Located at 400 S. West Street, this is a fairly small park for Cary, but it has a lot of character. A small creek flows through the middle of the park, and you’ll often hear the sounds of many birds singing as you sit on one of the numerous benches. There is no parking lot for Heater Park, but you can park on the side of the road, or if you want to get some extra steps in, it is about a ten-minute walk from the downtown Cary parking garage.

This is rarely a crowded spot, so it is ideal if you are looking for a place to relax without much commotion. The park itself is only 1.5 acres and is located right in the middle of a small neighborhood. Heater Park is hardly a destination that is frequently on people’s minds, which makes it a great spot when you’re trying to find space to unwind.

If you want to continue exploring the area, Heater Park is located just minutes from Dorothy Park, which has a similar feel – though it is a little smaller than Heater.
