Where To Find a Christmas Tree in Cary (and Nearby) in 2025

It’s that time of year again.

When the holidays hit Cary, one of the most satisfying rituals is heading out to find a real Christmas tree: walking rows of evergreens, comparing branches, arguing over which one is “perfect,” and then somehow fitting it into (or onto) your car.

If you’re in Cary, you don’t have to drive far to get a great tree. Within a short radius you’ve got classic tree lots, cozy family farms, and full-on “Christmas experience” destinations complete with hot chocolate and fake snow. For the 2025 season, here’s a look at where you can find a real tree in and around Cary, and what to expect at each stop.

Phillips Farms of Cary

6800 Good Hope Church Rd, Cary, NC

If you want a larger holiday experience than just picking a tree, this is the place to go.

The farm brings in fresh-cut Fraser firs from longtime partner farms in the North Carolina mountains, so you’re getting that classic, sturdy, good-smelling tree most people picture when they think “Christmas tree.”

In addition to getting the perfect tree, you also have the option to really dive headfirst into the Christmas spirit. Starting on 11/28, you can get tickets to a walk-through light show, complete with “snow”, hot cocoa, meeting Mr. and Mrs. Klaus, a petting zoo, and more. Tickets start at $15.

Green Acres Farm

1600 Morrisville Carpenter Rd, Cary, NC

If you live in west Cary, you’ve probably driven by Green Acres Farm on Morrisville-Carpenter Road more than once. Around the holidays, it turns into one of those spots where the traffic slows down just a bit as people glance over at the rows of Fraser firs lined up by the road.

If you’re looking for that traditional tree-farm feel, this is it. The focus is on good-quality Fraser firs brought down from the mountains, friendly staff, and a straightforward experience: show up, stroll through the trees, find the one that feels right, and bring it home. It’s absolutely a place where you’ll end up chatting with the folks working there and maybe picking up a few tips on tree care before you leave.

Neighbor Boy Country Store

1008 Davis Drive, Apex, NC

Just one town over, Neighbor Boy Country Store is a family-owned business that actually began as just a seasonal Christmas tree lot, but expanded to have a year-round country store which quickly became a staple in the Apex community. They will be selling Christmas trees until they are sold out. You can view information on their website here.
