Daisy’s Tails of Cary is a column celebrating dog-friendly places and establishments around Cary, NC – written from the perspective of Daisy, my dog.
Woof, woof! Hey there, four-legged and two-legged friends! It’s me, Daisy, your trusty canine columnist, and I’m here to share my latest tail-wagging escapade in Cary. This time, my nose led me to a place where humans gather for good brews, laughter, and, best of all, the company of fur babies like me – Fortnight Brewing!
Located at 1006 SW Maynard Rd, it was love at first belly rub! As I wagged my tail happily, I took in the delightful aroma of hops and barley, knowing I was in for a real treat. I was fully prepared to stay outside in their large outdoor space, but the staff said that I could go inside! Me! Daisy! They explained that dogs are allowed both inside the doors as well as out, meaning nothing was off-limits for this pup.
It is cozy inside, but let’s be real: you can’t squirrel watch from inside the bar. I convinced dad to take his “Dancing Shoes Pale Ale” (humans have the funniest names for beer) to one of the many tables outside and I felt much more free. As a bonus, I could smell one of the delicious food trucks just outside of Fortnight, which dad says are there almost all the time AND it isn’t always the same ones so you get lots of different smells each time you visit. I even managed to surf the web and found an event calendar that mentions upcoming food trucks, which you can view here.
I had such a pawsome time at Fortnight, but it wasn’t just me! There were lots of other pups around with their parents enjoying the lively atmosphere. It’s a great place to socialize, but it’s big enough where you can find your own space if you’d rather just chew on a bully stick by yourself. There’s lots of spots in the shade too, so that Carolina heat doesn’t feel all that bad, which is great because I ALWAYS have my fur coat on.
I give Fortnight Brewing FOUR PAWS UP, which is all of them!!
