New Mammography Center Opens in Cary to Enhance Breast Health Access

Solis Mammography opened its first Cary location on August 25, bringing a new option for breast imaging to the growing population of the town.

The center is located at 3434 Kildaire Farm Road, Suite 136, in the Millpond Village shopping center near Publix and next to Edward Jones. It is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with Saturday appointments by request. You can view current hours and schedule appointments here.

Until this new center opened, Cary residents had relatively few local options for dedicated mammography services. Existing providers include Duke Imaging Cary Mammography at Duke Health Cary Place and Wake Radiology’s Cary Breast Center and other facilities at Cary Hospital and Medical Park of Cary.

Access to mammography is critical. In North Carolina, more than 6,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year and over 1,000 die annually. State data show that roughly 12 percent of women in North Carolina will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime.

Statewide breast cancer screening and early detection efforts are making a difference. Still, the rate of new diagnoses rose by 23 percent between 2003 and 2021, even as mortality rates declined, thanks in part to improved screening and treatment.

With Cary’s population growing, now over 180,000, having additional local screening capacity may help reduce barriers such as travel or wait times and support earlier detection. Earlier mammograms mean earlier treatment and better outcomes for women in the community.

Grant Davies, Solis’s CEO, said “We look forward to introducing Solis Mammography’s formula for a better mammogram – a promise of comfort, convenience and compassion – to the women who call this community home.”

Just one town over, Solis Mammography is planning on opening another location later this year in Apex, at 5408 Apex Peakway, Suite A2.
