Downtown Cary Park’s Botanical Garden Quietly Reopens After Drainage Fixes

The botanical garden at Downtown Cary Park has officially reopened following several months of closure due to drainage problems.

Originally closed earlier this year, the garden faced persistent water retention issues that made the area muddy and, at times, impassable. Town officials closed the space to protect the landscaping and ensure visitor safety while a long-term solution was implemented.

Drainage improvements have since been completed, and the garden is once again open to the public. The upgrades have significantly improved the condition of the pathways. In addition, new stone-paved paths now lead into nearly every entrance of the botanical garden, improving both accessibility and aesthetics.

Located under the skybridge in the middle of the park, the botanical garden features a variety of plants and landscaping elements that create a quiet environment inside of the busy park.

While the reopening has not been widely publicized (Downtown Cary Park’s social media accounts didn’t announce the reopening), visitors are welcome to explore the area once again.

For residents and parkgoers, the return of the botanical garden adds another reason to visit Downtown Cary Park as summer winds down and the fall season approaches.
