NC Chinese Lantern Festival Returns to Cary Saturday, 11/15

For the 10th year in a row (if we skip 2020), the Chinese Lantern Festival at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre will return from November 15th to January 11th.

Celebrating a nearly 2000-year-old eastern tradition, Chinese lantern festivals occur worldwide to celebrate Chinese culture. In Cary, the Chinese Lantern Festival became a must-see event for its citizens, over 249,000 attendees last year (a record for the festival).

Ticket prices vary depending on the date, but average around $25. If you don’t want to commit to a date, you can purchase an any-day ticket for $44.40 after fees. You can view all available tickets here.

There are also special “Twilight Session” tickets which allow you to enter the festival at 4:30 PM instead of 6:00 PM so that you can catch the sunset as a backdrop for the lanterns. They are a little bit more expensive (averaging about $10 more than a normal ticket) and there are no any-day tickets available. You can check those tickets here.

For those who may need special considerations, a Sensory Friendly night will take place on December 2nd with reduced music, crowds, flashing lights, and a quiet space available for those who need it. You can view those tickets here.

For more information on the event, check out the official website here.
