Cary has a full slate of Bavarian-style fun this fall, from the region’s largest Oktoberfest at Koka Booth Amphitheatre to brewery stein-hoists and a month of pup-centric “Barktoberfest” happenings downtown. Here’s what’s on tap.
Triangle Oktoberfest at Koka Booth Amphitheatre
Fri–Sat, Oct. 3–4 • Koka Booth Amphitheatre
The 11th annual fundraiser from the Apex Sunrise and Cary MacGregor Rotary Clubs returns with unlimited German beer samples, food, oompah music, wiener-dog races, stein-holding contests, kids’ zone, and more.
Hours: Fri 5–10 p.m.; Sat noon–8 p.m.
Tickets: from ~$25 (kids 6–12 discounted; 5 and under free). Hosted in partnership with the Town of Cary.
Why go: It’s the Triangle’s biggest Oktoberfest and the most “authentic” experience in town, with proceeds supporting local and international charities.
Barktoberfest at Downtown Cary Park
Sept. 4 – Oct. 12 • Downtown Cary Park + Town venues
Downtown Cary Park is running a Barktoberfest series spanning classes, dog-friendly workshops, performances, and special Bark Bar programming through mid-October. Look for items like Paws & Applause! on Oct. 5 and dog-park membership appreciation days Oct. 10–11 across Cary’s dog parks. The park’s calendar has the evolving list.
What it is: A season of pup-forward events in and around Downtown Cary Park! Think training tips, themed socials, and family-friendly meetups rather than a single one-day festival.
Doherty’s “Oktoberfeis” Outdoor Party (Cary)
Sat, Oct. 18 • Doherty’s Irish Pub, 1979 High House Rd.
An outdoor party with beer, bands, and Bavarian-inspired fun. Cary’s Irish staple puts its spin on Oktoberfest with a big tent setup and live music. See the Eventbrite listing for times and updates.
