Daisy’s Tails of Cary is a column celebrating dog-friendly places, businesses, and establishments around Cary, NC – written from the perspective of Daisy, my dog.
Woof, everyone! I’m Daisy, and I’m here to share a tail-wagging adventure I had with Philicia Loving, the pawsitively wonderful owner and dog trainer behind Loving Pet Services. We had a blast at Bond Park the other day, and I’m eager to give you a canine perspective on her fantastic business.
Now let me be clear: I, Daisy, do NOT need any sort of training. I have been perfect since I was born and have never gotten into trouble. I’ve never eaten any of Dad’s shoes, shirts, shorts, or bathing suits, chewed through 2 separate leashes, eaten two (expensive) harnesses, destroyed most of my toys, or anything like that! I am a very good girl!
But as a dog journalist with ethics, I must confess that the last paragraph was a complete lie.
It isn’t my fault; I’m just a baby!
So, for the sake of my owners’ sanity, I decided to see what this “Loving Pet Services” thing is all about. And boy, was I glad I did.
Loving Pet Services is a local gem, offering a range of services to make dogs like me and our human companions happier. From in-home dog training to pet-sitting visits and dog walks, Philicia is all about strengthening the bond between dogs and their two-legged pals.
One of the things that really got my tail wagging is Philicia’s dedication to positive reinforcement dog training and her commitment to LIMA (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive) principles. No shock collars or harsh methods here, just a lot of treats and belly rubs – that’s a language I can understand!
Bond Park was the perfect backdrop for our adventure. With the wind blowing and Philicia’s gentle guidance, it was clear that we were in for some fun. She patiently showed my dad how to teach me some cool tricks and essential commands using treats and lots of praise. Learning became a game, and I couldn’t have been happier.
Now, let me tell you, Philicia is no ordinary dog trainer. She’s got a resume that’s more interesting than chasing squirrels! She’s worked with all sorts of animals, from cuddly cats and loyal dogs to exotic wild cats at Carolina Tiger Rescue. Her wide range of experiences has given her a keen understanding of the needs of all furry and scaly friends.
Philicia’s love for animals all started in her childhood.
“I grew up with so many animals,” Philicia explains about her pet-filled upbringing in rural Georgia. “We would have stray cats and dogs come over all the time. At one point, we had 20+ rabbits.”
But it’s not just about training – it’s about building lasting relationships built on trust and love. Philicia believes in bringing dogs and their owners closer together, and she’s got a knack for it. During our time at Bond Park, I could see the bond between us growing stronger, and it warmed my furry heart.
And speaking of bonding, Philicia loves connecting with our local community. She hosts meet-and-greet events where she chats with neighbors about dog training and answers their pet-related questions. You’ll find her once a month at Pet Supplies Plus in northwest Cary, spreading smiles and tail wags. Her next event at Pet Supplies Plus is October 15th from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
So, if you’re a pup like me looking to be the best dog you can be, or if you’re a pet owner seeking expert guidance, Loving Pet Services is the place to be. Philicia is all about making tails wag and teaching good behaviors.
Loving Pet Services isn’t just a business; it’s a haven for pet lovers like us. It’s where dogs like me can learn, grow, and have a blast, and where humans and their furry friends can create lasting memories together.
Here’s to pawsitivity, fun-filled adventures, and the incredible Philicia Loving – a true friend to dogs like me and humans alike.
