Greenway of the Month (November): Nancy Branch Greenway

Nancy Branch Greenway is a quiet 1.1 mile stroll that will eventually be expanded to connect to the American Tobacco Trail.

Nancy Branch Greenway is a quiet 1.1-mile stroll (in and out) surrounded by tall trees bordering residential neighborhoods. The greenway runs along Nancy Branch Creek and offers a nice paved surface that is perfect for an easy November afternoon stroll (bring a sweatshirt!).

There is no dedicated parking for Nancy Branch Greenway. We found that parking on-street around Hortons Creek Rd works pretty well – just be sure to park appropriately and not block anyone’s driveway.

There are future plans to extend Nancy Branch Greenway in both directions, including an extension that will eventually connect to the American Tobacco Trail. For now, the greenway is short and sweet; ideal for peaceful strolls or a light run.

If you want to make your walk a little longer, you can stroll down Yates Store road from the beginning of Nancy Branch and jump onto the Morris Branch Greenway, which features beautiful views of Amberly Lake (and was also October’s greenway of the month).

Just one more greenway to go! Stay tuned for our final greenway of the month in December.
